2015 Living Now Book Award Winners Promote Tolerance and Forgiveness

(Traverse City, MI - Sept 9, 2015)  Jenkins Group is proud to announce the winners of the seventh annual Living Now Book Awards, presented each year to honor "Books for Better Living." The awards are presented by Jenkins Group of Traverse City, Michigan, a book packaging and marketing firm dedicated to promoting books that enrich readers' lives in wholesome, Earth-friendly ways.

The Living Now Awards recognize the excellence of newly published books in a wide range of lifestyle categories, from cooking to spirituality. In all, 113 gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded in 35 categories, chosen from 530 total entries. See the entire list of Living Now medalists at  http://www.independentpublisher.com/article.php?page=1974

"These award-winning books inspire people to be more tolerant and forgiving," said Awards Director Jim Barnes. " In a world filled with racial injustice and religious intolerance, millions of people are living in fear and lacking the basics of a safe, happy life. Good books are a weapon against ignorance."

In this year's Evergreen Medal for World Peace winner, The Book of Forgiving (HarperOne), the Archbishop Desmond Tutu says, "My heart has been broken a thousand times over at the cruelty and suffering I have seen human beings unjustly and mercilessly inflict upon one another. Yet still I know and believe that forgiveness is always called for, and reconciliation is always possible...But I also know that it only possible if this peace begins with each of us."

The gold medalist in the Health & Wellness category, Food Guilt No More (Tell Me) expands on the theme that forgiveness begins within ourselves, even when related to dieting and the food we eat. "When we put negative energy and emotion into our food, this energy shows up in our bodies as negative moods, low energy, and low self-esteem," says author Lindsey Smith. "Enter each relationship with food in a state of love, gratitude, and appreciation. Your food will not only digest better, but you will feel better about eating it."

Yes, books can inspire, inform, and change peoples' lives. Throughout history, books truly have been "changing the world, one book at a time," and they continue to do so today, whether in the form of a tattered paperback or an interactive ebook on an iPad. The spirit of helping others learn and grow is what the Living Now Book Award-winning books are all about.
